As a Software Team Lead with Redis AI Services, you will lead the effort to transform Redis’ AI capabilities into scalable, reliable, and production-grade services. You’ll guide a team of engineers focused on software excellence, system robustness, and operational maturity, ensuring Redis delivers world-class AI-powered experiences to developers around the globe.
This role sits at the heart of Redis’ AI transformation. You’ll be evolving early-stage minimal applications into high-quality, production-ready systems that meet the demands of real customers. It’s a hands-on leadership position that blends deep software engineering, distributed systems design, and production operations.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Grow a High-Performing Engineering Team. Mentor and guide engineers to deliver high-quality, production-grade software with strong engineering practices, scalable design, and rigorous testing.
Drive Production Readiness and Reliability. Own the technical maturity of AI services - ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and availability goals through resilient architecture and solid operational processes.
Operational Leadership. Define and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs. Build strong observability, incident management, and release pipelines to maintain high service availability and velocity.
Evolve the AI Services Platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI research, product, and cloud infrastructure—to evolve Redis’ AI offerings into robust, customer-ready services.
Recruit and Develop Talent. Hire top engineers and foster a culture of technical curiosity, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need to Have

6+ years of experience as a software engineer in backend, cloud, or distributed systems, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
Proven success leading production or platform engineering teams delivering highly available, customer-facing services.
Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native services using Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo CD, or similar technologies.
Strong background in software design and architecture for scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages—Go, Java, Python, or similar.
Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, observability (Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger), and performance tuning.
Ability to define and track operational metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in reliability, quality, and delivery speed.

Extra Great If You Have

Experience productionizing AI/ML systems, including model-serving or AI-driven features.
Familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
Experience with Redis and its ecosystem.
Contributions to open-source projects in distributed systems, data infrastructure, or AI tooling.
