We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer, who will play a critical role in making Reddit’s experimentation platform world-class. We seek a candidate who can bridge the gap between our user-facing features and the underlying infrastructure. Ultimately, this Engineer role will drive the Experimentation Platform Team’s mission to accelerate innovation and growth through actionable, opinionated, and trustworthy A/B testing.

Some of our present and future challenges include:

Design, develop, scale, and support Reddit’s Experimentation Platform.
Design and implement a UX that will help product teams conduct better experiments and make decisions faster.
Develop and operate high scale data products with a focus on live site reliability, trustworthiness of analyzed data, and debuggability/actionability for feature teams.
Increase developer efficiency through automation, improved signals, workflow streamlining and system optimization.
Collaborate cross functionally within the Experimentation Platform Team and across the whole company to find technical solutions to complex design challenges.
Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, impact assessment, and deployment.

As a senior engineer on this team, you’ll be responsible for building and driving a vision for our experimentation platform with immediate impact on services across Reddit. This is a small team with huge impact and the opportunity to work with teams across Reddit. You’ll draw on your technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure our experimentation offering is cohesive and provides maximum value to an ever growing engineering organization. You’ll look for ways to bring in good ideas from other peers and also for opportunities to engage with org, presenting and sharing the team’s accomplishments.

What You’ll Do:

Steer: Work with the team to select, scope, and drive high leverage projects that align with Reddit’s goals.
Build: Execute on a strategy and a higher quality architecture and user experience for the Experimentation Platform UX end-to-end including workflows, readout controls, alerting/notifications, etc.).
Amplify: Mentor, coach, and collaborate with other technical contributors.
Collaborate: Work together with a variety of cross functional teams across Reddit.
Evolve: Learn and improve your own technical and non-technical abilities.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on, post-grad, non-internship professional Software Development experience
Proficiency in front-end technologies, including TypeScript/JavaScript with experience in component frameworks (React, Angular, Lit).
Demonstrated experience in developing end-to-end web applications at scale, from API design to user interface implementation.
Demonstrated ability to integrate front-end systems efficiently.
Expert with software engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to develop scalable, well-designed software
Experience working with an experimentation platform or measuring impact of FE work using experimentation or measured rollouts.
Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully-remote environment, and negotiate complex requirements with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. The base pay range for this position is:

$190,800—$267,100 USD
